To continue to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise we need your help.
Volunteers
Young Enterprise Volunteers make a real difference to the lives and future potential of thousands of young people in Yorkshire & Humber.
The Young Enterprise Programmes are based on the principle of "learning by doing" and each programme involves practical, fun, hands-on activity led by a Volunteer from local business or the community working alongside teachers/lecturers with specifically designed Young Enterprise programmes.
Volunteers become part of an exciting and enjoyable learning experience for the local community. There is no such thing as a typical "volunteer", they come from all walks of community and business life. No previous experience or expert knowledge is required other than your own experience of life, work or business; and your enthusiasm.
You will receive a volunteer pack and full training outlining everything you need to know about the programme and how to present/facilitate it. Ongoing support is provided by the local Young Enterprise manager.
The time commitment varies depending on the programme. Some involve an hour of your time, others run for five or six sessions, and others run over one academic year.
Volunteers are left with a real sense of achievement. As well as offering a learning experience for students, Young Enterprise programmes also bring learning benefits for volunteers, who are encouraged to develop their own skills and knowledge alongside the students.
Development of Skills and Knowledge/CPD
- Through the Young Enterprise Programmes, Business Volunteers have the opportunity to develop and hone their own management skills in a real working environment; in particular communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
- Through the role of a Young Enterprise Volunteer, individuals develop self-confidence, dealing directly with committed people in sometimes challenging situations.
- Young Enterprise Volunteers increase their knowledge through taking a holistic view and seeing how a complete business operates, rather than a single function such as production or sales.
- Active involvement with Young Enterprise as a Programme Volunteer or a Board Volunteer can contribute as structured and unstructured hours towards CPD/CPE qualification requirements of many professional bodies including ACCA, CIMA, CII, ICAEW, ICSA, CIPD, IEE, CIB, CIM, CPS.
- Young Enterprise provides its volunteers with access to training and the opportunity to put into practice newly acquired insights.
- Through Young Enterprise, volunteers have the opportunity to meet other similarly committed local business people and broaden their business skills in a real working environment.

Supporters
Young Enterprise Yorkshire and Humber is a not-for-profit organisation which is only able to deliver its programmes through the support of local and regional businesses. This support is provided in a variety of forms; financial, in-kind, and through the provision and encouragement of volunteers. All are essential to Young Enterprise.
Financial Support
Support Young Enterprise Yorkshire & Humber financially and we guarantee that more young people will be able to participate in our programmes and develop an enterprise spirit they can apply in any walk of life.
In Kind
We use a range of resources to make Young Enterprise happen in the region. If you can help us reduce transportation, venue or stationery costs for example, more money will go direct to funding programmes.
Volunteers
